2020年7月16日,毒品和犯罪问题办公室预防恐怖主义处处长Masood Karimipour先生向欧洲联盟理事会不扩散问题工作组介绍了毒品和犯罪问题办公室在执行理事会2018年12月10日关于欧盟支持普遍加入和有效执行《制止核恐怖主义行为国际公约》的第(CFSP) 2018/1939号决定方面所获进展。

自通过《制止核恐怖主义行为国际公约》以来,毒品和犯罪问题办公室一直与成员国合作促进普遍加入和有效执行《制止核恐怖主义行为国际公约》。毒品和犯罪问题办公室的工作至关重要,不仅有助于增加《制止核恐怖主义行为国际公约》的缔约国数量,而且还协助请求国将其条文纳入国家立法。目前,毒品和犯罪问题办公室正在根据理事会第2018/1939号决定促进《制止核恐怖主义行为国际公约》,以及由加拿大政府资助的关于加强核安全法律框架的项目。这两项举措互为补充,协同增效。
